A lovely, sweet and kind man who we had the pleasure of meeting on one of his walks along the Kennet and Avon Canal near Hungerford, when we had taken a year out boating in 2009. We stayed in touch by letter because he made such an impression. He never ceased to amaze us, showing such curiosity and a mind still open to learn. We will miss receiving his lovely letters and having him in our life. Sending love to his family, who he was very proud of.
